Morningside Medical Practice holds patient information on its clinical computer system. It is a requirement of the Data Protection Act (1998) that we inform patients of this. We would be grateful if you could notify us of this. For fuller details, please ask for a copy of our leaflet “Protecting Personal Health Information”.

From time to time, staff from NHS Lothian may join our own staff to help us to review and update our information systems by, for example, implementing recall systems to monitor patients with particular conditions.  In order to carry out this work, NHS Lothian staff have to be given access to patient information. If you would like more information on this subject or have any objections please ask to speak to the Practice Manager, who will be happy to discuss this with you. We have a legal requirement to maintain the highest levels of patient confidentiality.
